Where are they now?

Chris Duff, world-reknown solo sea kayaker and author of Celtic Tides.  Since we originally featured Chris on our inaugural 2000 issue he published Southern Exposure.  Both books are winners of National Outdoor Book Awards (NOBA).  Chris circumnavigated Iceland in 2003.  Details can be found here.  Look for Chris  in an upcoming issue of National Geographic!  SpirituallyFit.com was conceived partly to share stories about people like Chris.

Mick Bird shares his accounts about attempting to solo row around the world.  He is a musician and family man.  Mick chose to return to more time with his family rather than completing his lengthy and arduous trip. 

Kate Reavey, published poet, professor, mother, wife, nature-lover, marathon runner...you name it she's done it!  Kate continues to publish beautiful poetry and is a valuable friend of our webzine.

Glenn Williams shared his account while climbing mountains despite his physical disabilities.

Claire Favro, textile artist, continues to weave her art with fabric and thread.

Jim Whittaker, the first American to climb Mt. Everest in 1963, speaks about many of his climbs in Life on the Edge.  He shares accounts about summiting Mt. Everest, climbing with the Kennedys, summiting K2 in 1975 and facilitating the 1990 Peace Climb of Mt. Everest.  Since we featured him in 2002 he launched his web site.  Click here to visit. 

Sandy Boucher continues to work with cancer patients since her own bout with cancer in 1995.  Her previous web site appears to be defunct but information about her book, Hidden Spring: A Buddhist Woman Confronts Cancer, can be found here. 

Christiane Northrup, M.D. still actively empowers women and girls to achieve optimal health, freedom and joy through education about how to take care of their bodies, minds and souls.  Her web site is rich with resources for achieving this goal.

Special 2003 Peace Issue was dedicated to anti-war efforts and prayers for our troops.  We continue to share these sentiments today.

Michael Gurian is a social philosopher, family therapist, corporate consultant, and the New York Times bestselling author of twenty books published in fifteen languages.  Since we featured him he published What Could He Be Thinking?  How a Man's Mind Really Works.
